When Nothing You Do Closes the Distance

Most parents who reach out to us are carrying a fear they can barely say out loud.

You watch your child struggle and you don’t know how to reach them.

Everything you know how to try, you’ve tried, and the distance between you keeps growing.

Something Happened. Now You Need Real Help.

Maybe a teacher called. Maybe a caseworker is involved. Maybe your family has been through a separation, and now you’re trying to find your way back to each other.

You’re not looking for someone to nod and take notes. You’re looking for someone who can actually help your child feel safe again, and who can help your whole family talk to each other without it falling apart.

That’s the work we do.

We See Your Child as a Whole Person

When a child sits across from us, we’re not waiting to diagnose them and assign a label.

We’re paying attention to what isn’t said. The shrug that means more than the words, the story a child tells through play before they can tell it out loud.

Trust Gets Built at Your Child’s Pace

Children who have lived through abuse, neglect, or being moved from home to home don’t open up because an adult asks the right question. They open up when they trust that the adult in the room can hold what they bring.

We move at your child’s pace, and we follow their lead. We treat them as a partner in their own healing, because that’s how trust gets built and that’s how a frightened kid slowly learns they can be a normal kid again.

Helping Families Find Their Way Back to Each Other

So much of our work is with families trying to repair something that broke.

Parents and children who stopped understanding each other. Households reorganizing after a separation. Foster and adoptive families learning to trust a child whose earliest lessons taught them that adults aren’t safe.

In family work, we help everyone slow down.

Lower the Temperature. Find Each Other Again.

We help you hear what your child is actually saying underneath the behavior that worries you, and we help your child believe that you’re listening. We give you both practical ways to lower the temperature when conversations start to escalate, so that connection becomes possible again.

The goal is simply a family that can stay in the room with each other, even when it’s hard.

Care That Honors Where You Come From

I came to this country as a refugee from Sudan. I know what it is to rebuild a life in a new place, to carry the weight of what was left behind, and to raise a family across two cultures at once.

That lived experience shapes how I work with every family who walks through my door.

Culture, language, faith, and family tradition matter deeply in the work we do with you. They’re central to how you understand what’s happening in your life and what healing should look like.

We provide culturally and linguistically responsive care for individuals, couples, children, adolescents, and families. Whether you’re navigating displacement, resettlement, acculturation stress, or the quiet strain of holding two worlds together, you’ll be met with hospitality, respect, and dignity. You’ll be seen, heard, and understood.
